Mondelēz international, global manufacturer of snacks present in 165 countries, is a leading manufacturer and leader in the local food market in Poland. Its range includes, among others, the well known Milka and Alpen Gold chocolates, Prince Polo wafers, chocolate bars 3BIT, Oreo, Belvita or Petitki biscuits, Jacobs or Maxwell House coffee and Halls candies.
The company has in our country 7 factories (one in Bielany Wrocławskie) and employs in total – along with an office in Warsaw and sale forces – over 3,500 people.
Representatives of the group have just announced that there will be a new facility of the company created in Wroclaw.
– It gives me a great pleasure to announce that Mondelēz International plans to create in Poland – one of the most important markets for the company in Central Europe – a new global Research and Development Center. Poland, and Wroclaw in particular, is an ideal location, and the local renowned technical universities educate highly qualified specialists whom the new center would like to employ. Wroclaw is located close to the company’s other strategic markets in Central Europe, while the international airport and road infrastructure provide good access – explains Rob Hargrove, Executive Vice President of Research, Development and Quality in Mondelēz International.
The new center is to carry out research into famous brands of chocolate and biscuits, quality packaging, analyze the preferences and expectations of customers and the conformity of products with legal requirements relating to food products. The new center, as well as office space, will be equipped with modern laboratories, furniture and equipment necessary to conduct research.
– I am convinced that together we will create a center that will be an ideal place for work and professional development for the team that builds it – adds Rob Hargrove.
As representatives of the food industry giant explain, the planned center is not only a financial investment of 15 million dollars, but also an additional 125 jobs on the market and many opportunities for collaboration with external partners.
– In Poland we have 7 factories, and each of them is an active member of the local communities in which we operate. The plan to locate one of the most strategic Centers of Research and Development of the company in Poland confirms what an important market we are for Mondelēz International – said Zoltán Novák, CEO of Mondelēz International in Poland.
The investment in the new Research and Development Center in Wroclaw may take 2-3 years. It will be a time to build the center, move experts there and recruit additional collaborators in such a way as to not interfere with ongoing research and development projects.
